Health…Travel…Art…and Inspiration

Today we hiked Torrey Pines State Reserve. A gorgeous challenging hike, with views of the ocean that go on forever. So this is why people do this!! Amazing. We decided to walk up the beach to the trail and go up and then come back down. Although apparently no one else does that…because everyone else was going the other way. I felt like a salmon swimming up stream. But this is the way we did it nonetheless. (I’ve always kinda ‘marched to the beat of my own drummer’ as a friend of mine put it, so going against the traffic flow actually made sense for me.)

The trail is very clearly marked and well maintained and a lot of people use it. Actually, we were amazed at how many people were on it. Ok, it’s Saturday, that’s true. But still. There were a lot of people. But I can certainly see why they go there. Beautiful in every way.

I’d been here, many years ago, but with the memory problems that I have, I did not remember it.

I didn’t make it all the way up today. Started feeling quite hot and a little sick, so we turned around at that point. However, I almost got there (and will next time).

Also, next time…I will bring my camera. The views are just too awesome for me not to want to capture them and take them home with me. When I do, I’ll share them with you.
