Health…Travel…Art…and Inspiration

Today I’m feeling a little better, but honestly I’ve said that every morning for the last 4 days and I’m still coughing and have other obvious signs of being sick, including no voice still.

I’d like to go to Pilates tonight, but I’m concerned.

I went last Tuesday and by the end of class I was dizzy, nauseous and feeling pretty awful.

I spent the remaining hours of the evening at home on the couch moaning.

I want to push myself to get better, sweat it out of me and continue to push my body toward health, but can you push too hard and too soon?

At what point after being ill do you push and how do you know when your pushing too soon or too hard?

Preferably before you push yourself back into bed for a few more days.

I know there’s a level of being in tune with your body, but honestly I thought I could handle Pilates last Tuesday. I was wrong.

I guess I’m just not listening.

  1. Thank you Albert. Sounds like great advice. I think I’m going to listen to you rather than myself. But I love the idea of doing a little walking. I think I’ll do that today. Thanks!

  2. Hang in there. This is one of the worst flu seasons in recent history, and it sounds like it landed right on you. Fever and coughing are not excuses, they are symptoms. Fight this battle first, then return to the campaign. At this point, dress warmly and do light walking outside at least once a day. The fresh air will be good for you and your muscles will appreciate the activity. Pilates and hiking will still be there when you’ve beaten this flu.
