Cedar Creek Falls

Yesterday’s hike was really lovely.

We went to Cedar Creek Falls just outside of Ramona, California.

We used the American Trails website to find it.

The GPS directions were good.

Parked and we were on our way.

The hike is interesting, the first half, a little over 2 1/2 miles is all downhill.

But once you get to the waterfall it’s very rewarding and you really don’t want to leave.

The waterfall on this day was dried up. which we expected, but gorgeous nonetheless.

It was warm, but since it was overcast and a slightly lower temperature for this time of year, 83, we decided to go.

However, I’m not sure I would recommend this hike on a hot day.

Wait until winter, or better yet, April. All the wildflowers will be blooming, the weather will be gorgeous and the water will be flowing.

Happy Hiking!

Going outside

I met someone the other day who ‘isn’t an out-doorsy person’.

I was taken aback, learning that she doesn’t walk, no hiking, no bike riding…no nothing. Not even BBQ’s in the backyard!

I started thinking about all she’s missing.

City life is ok, but getting out into nature is bliss.

Peaceful, serene, and healthy.

I’m not saying you have to go for long hikes into the forest, but getting outside is good for you.

If your looking for some information on getting into hiking, I found this website to get you started.

American Hiking Society.

The trees, the smells, the clean air and the health benefits are so great I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to try it.

So get out there and see the world that you can’t see from the road.

Go take a hike!
