Losing Weight (Part 3)

Yesterday and the day before I added some easy ideas on how to lose weight.

Even if we did some of these things the benefits would be tiny.

But..there would be benefits and at the end of the year maybe we only notice one or two pounds gone.

However, that’s pounds lost not gained. I’ll take that.

Plus, all these things will add up and multiply and they will become easier, eventually turning your bad habits into healthy habits.

Here’s 10 more…

1. Add more spices to your meals.

2. Less salt.

3. On your sandwiches add more lettuce, tomato and sliced up vegetables.

4. Use less mayonnaise and more vegetable spreads, tapenade’s and oil/vinegar.

5. Eat at least one piece of fruit every day.

6. Order salad as your side. Not french fries.

7. Brown bag it to work.

8. Wherever you work, when you go to the bathroom, use the bathroom that’s farthest away from you. Can you take the stairs to get there?

9. Meetings at work? How about having your meetings outside? What about a ‘walking’ meeting? Or perhaps just have it at the restaurant down the street…and walk to get there.

10. Take the stairs at the mall. No escalators.

 

 

Losing Weight (Part 2)

Continuing with my easy ways to lose weight ideas, here’s 10 more.

1. Trade your regular dessert or cookies for fruit.

2. Refuse the free bread or chips. (If you can’t…limit it to only 1 basket) No refills.

3. Order soup and salad for dinner. No entree. No dessert.

4. Watch one less TV show and go for a walk instead. Take your family or significant other with you. Or your dog.

5. Don’t have a dog? Get one and walk him often.

6. Wash your car…Yourself…By Hand. Don’t forget the wax.

7. Add an adventure to your next vacation. Kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, swimming, walking tour, cycling. Whatever.

8. Buy smaller dinner plates and bowls.

9. Do NOT go for seconds.

10. Share an entree at the restaurant and order 2 small salads.

Losing Weight

I’m still struggling with losing weight.

So, I’ve been thinking lately about easy ways to lose weight in our day.

Every little bit helps…right?

So here are 10 I’ve come up with.

Can you think of any to share that you do?

1. Park further away from the door. At the grocery store, office or mall. Don’t look for a close space, just head out to the end and walk it.

2. Take the stairs.

3. Walk up the escalator.

4. Are you a soda drinker? When you open a new can…pour just a little out.

5. Make salads more often. Try one day a week and add more as you get used to it.

6. One day a week don’t add butter to anything. Work up to more days as your body begins to appreciate less fat.

7. Replace one soda or soft drink with water. Work up.

8. Have an hour lunch break? Choose a place to eat that offers quick lunches or brown bag it. Then walk for 10 minutes of your break. Work up to more time and maybe eat at your desk.

9. One day a week only have salad and veggies for dinner.

10. Use a little less sugar in your coffee or tea. Keep trying to get used to less and less.
